Calculate Ideal Calorie Intake
There is no perfect way to determine how many calories you burn, but you can use this tool to create an estimate. This tool will also tell you how many calories you need to eat to lose or gain weight safely, according to its estimate of the number of calories you burn in a day and according to the fact that one pound of fat is equivalent to roughly 3500 calories.
Activity Level
Very light - Sitting most of the day, 2 hours of standing or leisurely walking.
Light - Light exercising (walking or stretching) but sitting most of the day.
Moderate - More exercising (walking, gardening) but sitting a lot.
Strenuous - Heavy exercising (dancing, running, outdoor games).
Very strenuous - Very heavy exercising (basketball, running 5+ miles/day).
